Male, Female, and Non-Specific Language and Imagery of God in the Gospels

A study of the nature of the language and imagery for God in the New Testament, with particular attention to examination of references to God in the biblical tradition as personal or impersonal and as male, female, or non-specific with regard to sex. Of central concern are the theological implications and contemporary appropriation of biblical metaphors for God.
