### Eminent Nuns in Chinese Ch'an (Zen) Buddhism of the Sung Period (960-1279)

This study aims to explore individual eminent Ch'an nuns and their significance in the Sung Chinese social and religious context. It promises to provide new and illuminating insights in the assessment of women and the feminine in traditional Chinese society.
