### Caritas and Civitas: Feminist Theology and the Transformation of Civic Virtue

By transforming 'caritas,' feminist theologians offer the potential to transform 'civitas.' This project seeks to articulate conceptions of civic virtue implicit in feminist interpretations of 'caritas' -- 'agape,' Christian neighbor love. The hypothesis is that these conceptions of civic virtue may be informative not only for the Christian citizen, but for the 'good' citizen more generally.
