### ‘Misery Loves Company?’ Radical Failure as the Basis for Transnational Muslim Feminist Solidarity

Is ‘failure’ useful and productive for Muslim women who struggle with meeting religious and cultural expectations? What if failure was reevaluated as a source of collective engagement rather than individual diminishment? This project asks the questions about the radical potential of negative emotions and failure for feminist politics.

## Profile

Alicia Izharuddin is a Senior Lecturer in Gender Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Malaya. She received her PhD in Gender Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies. She has a keen interest in Islamic media culture and gender.
